Dear Wellness Partners and Friends,

As I wrap-up my first quarter as director of The Wellness Coalition, I want to thank you for your support as we work to bring healthcare access to all in the River Region.

It has been my great fortune to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Cynthia Bisbee, who retired as Executive Director on September 30, 2017. Dr. Bisbee’s service at The Wellness Coalition advanced our mission and programming and positioned the Coalition for future success. I am grateful for the five months that I was able to spend working alongside her to make a smooth transition and for her encouragement through the process.

I am delighted to work with a truly dedicated staff, board members, and partners who believe in our mission. In my few short months here, I have been impressed on a daily basis with the levels of professionalism and heart that the Coalition’s staff brings to their work. Everyone is here to make the River Region a healthier community and to serve the underserved. The best part of my job is hearing client success stories joyfully retold by one of our staff members!

The Wellness Coalition exists to ensure that people get the healthcare they need. Whether through connecting people with primary care, teaching people how to manage chronic disease, or increasing access to healthy foods, we have the resources to help those who need it most.

Last year, more than 1,000 people benefited from Wellness Case Management, the foundation of the Coalition’s work. We are striving to increase that number in 2018 by taking services to the clients in easily accessible locations. There are new programs on the horizon that will enhance our work with chronic disease and target diabetes prevention, and we will also continue providing training and education for healthcare and social service professionals through our conferences and seminars.

The Wellness Coalition is poised for a bright future. There is much work to be done to improve the health and quality of life in the River Region. We look forward to your continued partnership and participation as we enter a new year ready to serve.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2018,

Molly M. Stone
