CDI is The Wellness Coalition’s annual summer conference which provides information about chronic disease prevention and management. Sessions include a variety of relevant, current topics and continuing education credits are offered. The 2015 CDI conference dates are:

IMG_0113Tuesday, July 21 – Pre-Conference Community Resources Day (10:00am – 3:00pm)
This day precedes The Wellness Coalition’s annual Chronic Disease Institute. Representatives from local, regional, statewide, and national organizations will make 15-minute presentations about the services they provide and how to access them. The Resources Day is beneficial for everyone who provides and type of direct client services or refers clients to community resources.

Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 23 – Chronic Disease Institute (Times TBD)
This is an annual event presented by The Wellness Coalition which focuses on information affecting chronic disease prevention and management. The structure of the conference includes plenary and breakout sessions covering both clinical and non-clinical topics.
 
Tentatively scheduled sessions include:

  • Diabetes: Understanding A1C
  • The Impact of Stress on Chronic Disease
  • Integrating Medical and Therapeutic Care
  • Managing Congestive Heart Failure
  • Understanding Bipolar Disorder
  • Health Literacy
  • Nutrition and Chronic Disease
  • Types and Causes of Chronic Pain
  • Addressing Chronic Disease in Alabama
  • Prevalence and Treatment of HIV and AIDS
  • Many, many more!

Continuing Education credits will be offered for all 3 days (Nursing, Social Work, General).
