Baby Cafés are a safe space for breastfeeding mothers. Baby Cafés offer free full-spectrum breastfeeding/chestfeeding support from pregnancy to weaning. Cafés welcome exclusive pumping parents, working parents, and stay-at-home parents of all cultures and lifestyles. Baby Café sponsors make efforts to find culturally appropriate staff for the community population, with translation services available if necessary.

Each location is licensed by Baby Café USA (BCUSA), a registered non-profit, and will be run in partnership with The Wellness Coalition. BCUSA provides support, resources, and a proven model to follow to help make the process of setting up and operating a Baby Café site uncomplicated and time-efficient. Businesses that provide space for a Baby Café will be included in all promotions.

The Baby Café Model Works Because…

It’s Effective – Parents value the professional-level care and welcoming peer support they receive at their local Baby Cafés. Most Cafés are funded by a sponsoring organization (i.e., hospitals and physician groups) that can utilize community grants, ensuring sustainability.

It’s Established – Detailed guidelines in the Baby Café Toolkit provide facilitators with support resources, policies, and a clear and consistent model to follow. With over 150 Baby Cafés across the US, a growing number of parents have access to free breastfeeding support with a national connection.

It Exposes Your Business To New Customers – Since 2018, thousands of parents have registered to participate in Baby Cafés. With over 150 Baby Cafés across the US, a growing number of parents have access to free breastfeeding support with a national connection.

It’s Flexible – The Baby Café concept is flexible and can be adapted to accommodate different community profiles. Cafés operate in many different types of locations and are facilitated by a variety of available approved breastfeeding counselors such as IBCLCs, CLCs, CLSs, CLEs, and WIC Peer Counselors.

It’s Branded – The Baby Café trademarked name and logo are synonymous with quality breastfeeding care coupled with an informal, relaxed atmosphere. The upbeat visual representation and the associated Licensed Baby Café standards are reflected in its brand at both national and local levels.

Ongoing Support – Baby Café USA offers ongoing support to facilitators via email, phone, and Facebook. Each Baby Café has an individual web page for site details, and facilitators have exclusive access to a comprehensive bank of resources.

Reportable Data – The provided data collection tools make it easy for facilitators to monitor and report attendance. Sponsoring organizations can be confident they are investing in a flexible, effective form of healthcare delivery.
