DESCRIPTION:The Wellness Coalition Milk Haven Committee is a part of Champions for Change\, and seeks to provide safe spaces for breastfeeding mothers and to make connections between breastfeeding professions\, including lactation support staff (IBCLC\, CLS\, CBS\, CLC\, CLE)\, OB/GYNs\, nurses\, midwives\, doulas\, community program (staff/leaders)\, family educators and others. The committee will also work to establish breastfeeding-friendly status for hospitals and providers. Means to accomplish these objectives include: \n\nPromoting\, through committee members\, education and information about developing lactation spaces in work environments and others\nPromoting the importance of breastfeeding support through healthcare providers and community leaders\nProviding training on the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and baby\nIdentifying organizations that can work with the committee to accomplish specific goals\nAnd more\n\nMilk Haven Committee members will:  \n\nServe as a public forum for discussion on breastfeeding issues\nAssess local opportunities to establish lactation spaces\nIdentify and address gaps that affect breastfeeding success\nAct as liaison between public and private sectors\nBuild relationships with locations where breastfeeding families visit and address obstacles that prevent breastfeeding families from having a successful breastfeeding experience\nPromote and make the Baby Cafés sustainable and available to all families\nProvide a voice to often marginalized stakeholders\, including\, working mothers or families affected by a lack of access to clean and safe spaces to breastfeed\nPlay an active role in educating policymakers and the public on the challenges and barriers breastfeeding families face\, as well as ways we can overcome those barriers\n\nSign Up for Milk Haven\nAlready a member?
